Commoditrade to offer Asset Management to Outside Investors.

The London based investment firm Commoditrade, plans to open it's asset management unit as of March 1st 2010.
Commoditrade completely rebranded its asset management sector as Mentum LLC, which was previously known as AMCO Commodities LP. Commoditrade purchased Mentum just over a year ago.
Per Commoditrades website, "Mentum will offer clients access to a suite of portfolio managers trading multiple commodity classes and strategies and each representing an individual investment product. An investor can view each portfolio manager's 'product' profile before deciding whether an individual or a combination of managers best suits their requirements. The asset management team and the range of commodity classes on offer is expected to expand as the number of clients and funds under management increase."
The trading philosophy will contain strategies including calendar spreads, directional strategies, and taking advantage of short and medium term trading opportunities.
Per Commoditrades CEO David Phipps, the launch of Mentums managed futures accounts is in line with the groups strategy to build additional revenue streams. This is the first new product to benefit from the very efficient, controlled, and robust technical infrastructure the company spent the last 12 months building.
