Does Paul Tudor Jones Regret Supporting Obama?
Posted: 07/03/09

It's a question a lot of preeminent hedge fund managers may be asking themselves as well today.
The hedge fund industry, not just George Soros, was in lockstep with Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign.
According to public records, the hedge fund industry put a whopping 70% of its collective campaign contribution loot toward helping the junior senator from Illinois become President of the United States. Big shot after big shot, from Kenneth Griffin to Paul Tudor Jones to Daniel Loeb, supported Obama.
But would they have done the same if they had known such heavy regulation would soon be levied on their industry? After all, this wasn't discussed during the campaign.
If and when the backlash comes, according to some political scientists, it could be financially devastating to the re-election bid for President Obama.
"Tudor Jones is a guy you want on your side," writes one analyst. "You don't want hi against you."

I don't know. I think Obama and his administration are turning their back on the asset class. That could come back to bite him.

Soros would support a chipmunk if it was a democrat. He's a bleeding heart.

right. That's why Soros will support Obama no matter what he does.

I don't really think any regs will hurt the big shots mentioned. They're so good at what they do that regulations are like flies buzzing around a horse.
