Emtec Federal said Tuesday it has won a contract worth up to $82.5 million over five years to procure computer equipment for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s International Technology Service organization.
The contract calls for the systems-integration subsidiary of Emtec Inc. to buy equipment to support the USDA’s effort to go paperless and to establish and maintain a common information-technology infrastructure for the 3,500 field service centers run by the USDA’s Service Center Agency.
The International Technology Service organization provides IT service and support to the Service Center Agency’s 40,000 employees and their networked computers.
Emtec Federal also will procure equipment to aid in quick recovery in natural disaster situations, for homeland security and for changes in field-service job requirements.
