Per Steve Jobs: Publishers are Withholding Their Books from Amazon

The big tech buzz this week has been Apple's release of the new tablet product the "ipad".
Reviews have been somewhat mixed on the launch of the ipad, with many stating their not sure if it's really necessary to own one. If you have an iphone, and a macbook, the ipad just seems a little over indulgent.
At the much anticipated release event, Steve Jobs was asked by Walt Mossberg ""Why should he buy a book for $14.99 on your device when she can buy one for $9.99 from Amazon or Barnes & Noble?"
Jobs replied with a very confident response, stating "That wont be the case", and "Prices will be the same". He also mentioned that "Publishers are withholding their books from amazon, because their not happy."
Even though the ipad may seem completely unnecessary to some, Apple has been able to create a following that many in the tech industry cannot re-create. The community that surrounds Apple is almost like a "cult-following", and the biggest advantage to this following is many will buy every single Apple product regardless if the "need" it or not.
