Sarah Palin to Resign as Governor of Alaska

CNN has broadcast a breaking news announcement that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is planning to resign withing the month from her office as Alaska's chief executive.
The Palin announcement is bound to set off media speculation about her motivation, At this point, however, the reasons for Palin's resignation are merely conjecture.
Sarah Palin came to national attention when she was chosen as the Republican Vice Presidential candidate, running with John McCain in his run for President against Democrat Barack Obama.
Governor Sarah Palin made a press statement from Wasilla, Alaska. She did not take questions from the press. Palin stated that she was doing what was best for the State of Alaska.
Sarah Palin is transferring power to Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell. Palin stated that the transition will be very smooth, after the Governor's Picnic at the end of the month.
